Three blind mice

Three blind mice, three blind mice....

See how they run, see how they run.....

Oh how I miss that dear old python who once lived 'upstairs'. While he boarded with us, we never had to worry about families like this one caught trying to sneak into the house. And I never had to run around catching mice by the tail (or trying to).

Hey, at least they are a lot smaller than the rats that have been using our compost as fast food!...

I don't like mice but I don't like snakes either! I found a dead mouse in with my potatoes one day - now I keep the spuds in the fridge.

Well today as I was farewelling someone in the front yard, another of these little guys ran right across the driveway in front of me! And as I followed, I definitely saw him HOPPING down a little incline -- so maybe it's actually some kind of marsupial mouse? I think there is such a thing, though why would they be near the house! They are so tiny - only 3 or 4 cm long in the body, and almost endearing. As long as they stay outside, that is.

I think marsupial mice have longer ears. Maybe it's a tiny rabbit come to visit for Easter. Often mice like to come in houses when it starts to get colder.

hi there, we've got a few mice around the place just now and we have 3 cats! There are actually three less since yesterday - we gave in and bought a wee trap and put peanut butter on it. It's hard as they are so cute, but the last straw was finding a wee mouse poop on the cooker! ew

Lucy will sort them out this weekend if they're still around... ;-)
